Speeding motorcycle stopped in King

A 34-year-old Brampton man was charged early Friday morning for making a very fast trip down Highway 400 on a motorcycle.

South Simcoe Police reported a traffic officer was southbound in the area of Innisfil Beach Road shortly after midnight Friday when the officer noticed a motorcycle, also southbound, travelling at an extremely high rate of speed.

This vehicle was estimated to be going between 170 and 200 km/hr and accelerated up to 230 km/hr at times, apparently unaware a police cruiser was behind him. Eventually this driver was stopped safely just north of King Road.

He was is charged with speeding 230 km/hr in a posted 100 km/hr zone and is scheduled to appear in Bradford Court Aug. 17.
