Letter to the Editor
A lady of principle

Integrity and courtesy are alive and well in Schomberg.

Last week, while lunching with a few gal pals at Sheena's Kitchen on Main Street in Schomberg, I slid into my chair and ripped my blouse and slacks on an exposed nail.

As you can imagine, I was quite perturbed and mentioned the incident to the waitress.

To my surprise, the proprietor immediately came to the table and apologized. I thought that would be the end of that, but there was more.

She asked me to estimate the cost of my outfit and to talk to her when I was ready to pay the bill. So, after I had enjoyed my delicious lunch, I met her at the counter (now I say "she" each time because I did not ask her name). And, to make a long story short, she made out a cheque to cover the cost of my blouse and slacks continuing to apologize profusely. Further, she did not charge me for my meal.

As I exited the building, I thought, "What a woman of principle. I know that I will be back to Sheena's Kitchen again and again."

A few days later, I scrutinized the cheque and realized this woman's name was S. Henderson.

Thank you dear lady!
Honey Craig,
