By Bill Rea

The congregation and community of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Nobleton said goodbye to their minister of the last five years. Rev. Barry Van Dusen, his wife Peggy, son Jonathan and daughter Sarah are off to Sarnia.
St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Nobleton is looking for a new minister.

Rev. Barry Van Dusen officiated at his last service Sunday, and is now on his way to a new posting in Sarnia.

Several local officials were on hand Sunday to see Van Dusen and his family off. They included King Fire Chief Bryan Burbidge, who thanked him for the years he served as chaplain for the fire department.

Councillor Bill Cober recalled Van Dusen was the successful bidder for a golf game with him in a fundraising auction for tsunami relief a couple of years ago, and Cober has not yet delivered on that obligation.

"Your new community is better for your arrival already," Cober told him.

King Township Chamber of Commerce President Maureen Richardson thanked Van Dusen for the year he served on the Chamber board.

Van Dusen was the chaplain for King Fire and Emergency Services. Fire Chief Bryan Burbidge presented him with some testimonials, and some of the fire fighters contributed a supply of Tim Hortons coupons, as well as a list of outlets in Sarnia.
"His dedication to his church and his community is indisputable and complete," she told the congregation.

"Thank you for being out family for the past five years," he told the audience at the end.
