Mayor's annual Charity Golf Challenge a success, despite the rain The 11th annual Charity Golf Challenge, hosted by Mayor Margaret Black, went ahead Thursday, and despite a rain delay, it was a big success. Several local charities were beneficiaries of the event, including the community Safety Village of York Region and the Township's Community Assistance Program. Schomberg's Ed Gardhouse was again in charge of the live auction, and one of the items on the block was a day of labour from Councillor Bill Cober, which sold for $475.
