King represented at Chef's Challenge
The recent Chef's Challenge, held last week in Caledon East in support of Family Transition Place, featured the culinary skills of some of the top chefs in the area. And King Township was well represented. Sous chef Anthony Sciortino from Hogan's Inn in King City served up samples of smoked small mouth green bass with coconut ginger foam. Meanwhile, Chef Daniel Gilbert from Daniel's of Nobleton was offering braised duck with raspberry rhubarb sauce, over Basmati and wild rice, served in a phyllo cup, decorated with marigold petals. The 16 restaurants taking part were judged for their wine and food tastings. Chef Jason Perkins and sous chef Brenda Christensen of Belfountain Inn won the competition.
