Plenty going on this week in Arts Festival King Arts Society King (ASK) kicked off Arts Festival King over the weekend, plenty of colour, along with the promise of a week of artistic enrichment throughout the township. Sunday night featured the Soiree at the King campus of Seneca college, and the entertainment there was nothing short of impressive. David Cox of St. Catharines wowed the audience with a dance routine, accompanied by Chris Banks on bass, and David Dunlap and Jesse Barksdale on guitars. Barksdale will be appearing in King again this week when he plays with Jeff Healey and the Jazz Wizards tomorrow (Thursday) evening at King Swings.
Schomberg Idol Laura Grossi added her wonderful singing voice to Sunday's Soiree.
Food was a big item at the Soiree, and Bryce Baker of The Grackle Coffee Co. in Schomberg had ideas on what to wash it down with.
ASK president Garry Conway extended welcome to all at the Soiree.
Sheena Henderson and Marg Dalman of Sheena's Kitchen in Schomberg had some terrific samplers.
Schomberg's Geoff Perry contributed his talents to the Soiree.
This coming weekend will feature a studio tour of many local artists. the acrylic creation of Nancy Jones of King City will be among those on display.
