Week-long Arts Festival King set to start this Saturday
      The arts scene in King is rich, varied and alive, and much of it will be on display for all in the coming week as Arts Society King (ASK) hosts the second annual Arts Festival King.

Colourful showcase of gardens was on display Sunday
     Seven top local gardens were on display Sunday as the Schomberg Horticultural Society hosted its annual Garden Tour. Jane Binions' Pottageville garden was one of the stops on the tour, with flowering shrubs and evergreens, along with a variety of perennials, roses and lavender.

      A surprise can often be nice, such as the one Nadine Steenhoek just received. The 18-year-old Schomberg resident completed her studies at King City Secondary School late last month, and learned that she was at the head of her graduating class in her top six courses.

OPTOMETRIST OPENS PRACTICE IN KING CITY
      Mayor Margaret Black was on hand to cut the ribbon recently to officially open the optometrist practice of Dr. Sonia Postiglione. The office is on Keele Street, just north of King Road in King City. She is bringing 15 years of optical experience and 10 years of practising optometry to the area.
