Volunteers sought to redecorate All Saints'
King's Corners
All Saints' Anglican Church Submitted by Claire Alexander

You are warmly invited to participate in events at All Saints' Anglican Church, a caring, friendly church.

This is the summer of new inspiration, and of equipping the laity for service. Come and listen to a variety of different preachers and ministers over the summer season.

This Sunday (July 8) the summer services at 8 and 10 a.m. will be led by guest preacher Rev. Jerry Loweth, with lectionary readings in 2 Kings 5 and Luke 10.

Details of the triennial General Synod in Winnipeg are available at www.anglicanjournal. com

Though both clergy and laity in separate votes approved same-sex blessing rites, the move was narrowly defeated (19-21) by the bishops, leaving both sides somewhat disappointed. Anyone wishing to know more about the issue is welcome to speak to Rev. Nicola Skinner. All people are welcome at All Saints'.

Congratulations to our amazing Kingfest team of Nancy Bodi, Susan Willmot, Leah Springford, Joan Francis and Patrick Gossage. You put together a great festival! Looking forward to next year.

Our youth group enjoyed a wonderful end-of-year pool party and barbecue at Barbara Houlding's place last week. It is so good it is now a tradition.

Enjoy the summer, and we look forward to seeing you in September when we will begin two youth groups for young people aged seven to 12 and 13 to 18. Friends and newcomers are warmly welcomed to join us.

This summer, All Saints' will be enjoying a redecoration inside and out, all colours chosen by a wonderful designer, to enhance our sense of worship and wellbeing, and not least to freshen us up for our 150th Anniversary celebration in November. Any painting volunteers would be appreciated. Community service hours will be given to any high school volunteers who wish to help out. Call the office for details.

All Saints' Anglican Church is at 12935 Keele St. in King City, a few doors south of King Road. The Eucharist is celebrated at 8 and 10 a.m. in the Chapel. The office is open from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Tuesday to Thursday in the summer.

If you know of a need or would like prayer, contact the church office, or Rev. Skinner, at (905) 833-5432, or (EOL)
