Get your tickets for the Soiree The second annual Arts Festival King is set to start next weekend, and will offer an eight-day celebration of the arts, heritage and nature in the township. While things will get started next Saturday (July 14) with a couple of events, including a heritage walking tour of Schomberg, a country craft show at Schomberg Community Hall and a heritage bus tour of the township, Arts Society King (ASK) will be really kicking things off with the Sunday night Soiree July 15, from 5 to 8 p.m. It will be held outdoors on Recreation Island at the King campus of Seneca College. Meet the Studio Tour King artists while sampling hors d'oeuvres, mini entrees and luscious desserts from six King caterers (BECCS, Dorio's Kettleby Italian Bakery, Pine Farms Orchard, Roslyn House, Sheena's Kitchen and Sweet Surrender) and from six chefs of King: Chef Mark of Cardinal Golf Club, Chef Corey of Carrying Place, Chef Daniel from Daniel's of Nobleton, Chef Ed from Eaton Hall, Chef Robert from Hogan's Inn and Chef Rolf from Port Soiree. Sip on wine from Pine Farms Orchard and Fruit Winery and of course that wonderful beer from King Brewery. Enjoy the spectacular entertainment with Katherine Jones on the guitar, Laura Grossi (Schomberg Idol), dancer and choreographer Daniel Celebre, gypsy jazz Guitarist David Dunlap and his trio, soprano Hillary Coote and vocalist Geoff Perry. This will be among the first attractions in a week filled with entertainment, workshops and tours of the studios of a number of local artists. The Soiree is open to all. To order tickets ($65 each), call (905) 859-7970. There are only 250 tickets, so don't miss out. |
