Church

You are warmly invited to participate in events at All Saints' Anglican, a caring, friendly church.

Congratulations to our members for a great Kingfest over the weekend: Nancy Bodi, Patrick Gossage, Joan Francis, Leah Springford and Susan Willmot.

This Sunday (July 1), the summer schedule begins, with services at 8 and 10 a.m., continuing until the Labour Day weekend (Sept. 2). Feel free to join us for informal gatherings in the 150-year-old chapel.

On July 1, a lay ministry Question and Answer approach about spiritual mentors will involve the congregation in discussing the lectionary readings from 2 Kings 2 and Luke 9:51 to the end. Rev. Ann Shorrocks will be celebrant at the Eucharist.

July 8, Rev. Jerry Loweth will be our guest preacher, with lectionary readings in 2 Kings 5 and Luke 10. Stay after the service to greet your friends over a refreshing glass of juice.

A restful summer to all, and a fun one for the kids. While you are on holiday, keep up with church events through King's Corners at www.kingsentinel.com.

All Saints' Anglican Church is at 12935 Keele St. in King City, a few doors south of King Road. The Eucharist is celebrated at 8 and 10 a.m. for the summer.

Special prayers are available on-line at www.anglicanprayer.org/sel ected.html. If you know of a need or would like prayer, please contact the church office, or Rev. Nicola Skinner, at (905) 833-5432, or (EOL).

At King City United Church, a welcome is extended to all visitors and new people now living within the community.

King City United is a vibrant, caring Christian church and welcomes everyone to the Sunday school and the Sunday worship services at 10 a.m., followed with fellowship and refreshments.

King City United Church is one block south of the King Road and one block east of Keele Street, at 50 Elizabeth Grove.

This Sunday (July 1), the reflection is to be Canada's Covenant, based on Psalm 23. All are invited to gather in the parlour, after the worship service, to discuss this further.

The Sunday morning services and Sunday school will not be held from July 8 to Aug. 5. Pastor Bob is to be on vacation from July 2 to July 31. In case of a pastoral emergency, please call Rev. Tim Dayfoot at (905) 859-3976.

While Nancy is to be in the office throughout July on an irregular schedule, phone messages will be retrieved on a regular basis.

God bless all and have a wonderful and safe summer.
