St. Andrew's Church to offer 'Southern Hospitality' for Father's Day Seniors Error in current Newsletter Due to a pricing error, the cost for the Aug. 29 trip to the Orillia Opera House was shown in the Newsletter as $50. The correct price for this trip is $83 with cheque post-dated July 29. Sign-up day is June 13. The Travel Club apologizes for the error and any inconvenience it may have caused. St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church Submitted by Kathy Patterson St. Andrew's King City warmly invites the community to our Southern Hospitality Sunday Father's Day (June 17) at 10:30 a.m. We'll be having our church service outdoors, with Southern Gospel music, followed by what promises to be the best southern barbecue north of the Mason- Dixon Line! Bring Dad, the whole family and your lawn chairs. We look forward to seeing you there. The prayer group now meets Sunday mornings at 9:15 a.m. in the pastor's study. Join us for a precious time. King City United Church Submitted by Shirley Burton King City United Church, a vibrant, caring Christian church, invites all to the Sunday school and the Sunday worship services at 10. a.m., followed by fellowship and refreshments. King City United Church is one block south of King Road and one block east of Keele Street, at 50 Elizabeth Grove. Next Sunday's reflection is to be "on the C-Team," based on Jeremiah 1:4-10 and 1 Peter 5:1-11. All are invited to gather in the parlour after worship to discuss this further. The annual Pork Barbecue, held on the church grounds, is to be tomorrow (Thursday), starting at 4.30 p.m. Tickets are still available through the church office. Tickets are $13 in advance for adults or $15 at the door, and $6 for children under 12. Boxes of port chops are available for purchase from Gord Orr at (905) 833-6360. Pies are needed, please bring them to the barbecue. Plan to attend our Fishers of Faith family picnic June 17 at the Fry Farm. Worship service is to begin at 10 a.m., followed by a pot-luck picnic. Camp Big Canoe, an overnight camp for kids aged six to 15 in Bracebridge, still has spots available. Future Quest provides young people aged 14 to 17 with a creative and challenging approach to spirituality and personal growth exploring community, theology and leadership. The cost for each participant is $750, including meals, accommodations and a three-day ecospiritual canoe trip. Worship with us Sundays at 8 or 10:30 a.m., and take time to get to know people over coffee and refreshments after the later service. Sign up to help with prepainting clean-up tasks, and for the painting bee to fol- Welcome to all the community this Sunday (June 10), as we celebrate All Saints' Heritage Day with a picnic barbecue following the 10:30 a.m. Eucharist. Children will enjoy the bouncy castle and face painting, and everyone can join in old-fashioned games. Come and look around our old chapel and see displays of historical altar cloths and vestments worn by early clergy. If your forebears attended church in the original chapel, you may be interested in note cards now available of a new black and white sketch of the chapel. Next Sunday (June 17), we celebrate the baptism into the faith of one of our newborns. Anyone interested in baptism or marriage is welcome to contact the church for further details. Voices of Joy will hold their End of the Year Concert this coming Monday (June 11) at 7 p.m. in Newmarket, at New Hope Methodist Church, at 337 Queen St., east of Lorne (south of Davis Drive). Our own church members who are organizing Kingfest 2007, June 22-24, on the grounds of Seneca College, King City, have posters available. Remember that Habitat for Humanity receives two dollars for every ticket sold for the festival. Get your tickets before they sell out!
