Serious accident in King

York Regional Police are investigating a serious traffic accident in the northern section of King late Monday night.

Police reported a 17-year-old Aurora youth was driving a silver Honda Civic southbound on Yonge Street, north of Bathurst Street, at about 11:45 p.m. For some reason, the car crossed the centre line and collided with a northbound Kia Magentis, which was being driven by a 42-year-old man from Tottenham.

Both drivers were rushed to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is continuing and police are seeking witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to contact the York Regional Police Traffic Bureau at 1-866-876- 5423, ext 7703, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or leave an anonymous tip online at www.1800222tips.com
