SUCCESSFUL IDOL COMPETITION COMES TO END

Laura Grossi, 12, of Bolton, was named the first Schomberg Idol Saturday afternoon at Schomberg Agricultural Fair. She was one of three finalists in the competition, which started in the fall with 13 young hopefuls. She is flanked here by fellow finalists Michala Todd and Sarah Forestieri. "They're both really good too," Laura commented after the competition. The field was down to seven at the start of the fair, but Jeffrey Byron Lean was the only other one who made it to the semi-finals, as Caroline Rucella, James O'Connor and Jamie Warren were eliminated. The competition was hosted by the Schomberg Agricultural Society in co-operation with Arcadia Academy of Music. Laura is a Grade 7 student at Pope John Paul II School in Bolton.
