United Church is still looking for prizes for the Amazing Race King City United Church, a vibrant, caring, Christian church, invites all to the Sunday school and the Sunday worship services at 10 a.m., followed by fellowship and refreshments. King City United Church is one block south of King Road and one block east of Keele Street, at 50 Elizabeth Grove. This Sunday morning's Reflection is to be The Bridge of Blessing, based on Psalm 37 and Luke 10:25- 39. All are invited to gather in the parlour after worship to discuss this further. The plant lady, Hilda Baumhard, is selling off her perennial plants, with the proceeds going to the Talent Fund. Please call her at (905) 833-6448 to arrange a time to visit her garden. The registration date for the third annual King City Amazing Race is to take place May 20. The race will be June 2, starting at 1 p.m., sharp. Donated prizes are still needed, so if you are able to help out, please talk to Daniela Weston or Serena Edmunds. Teams are to be from two to six members and each team must have one person who can drive, as this race is to be both walking and driving. There is to be a barbecue dinner for participants and host home participants at the end of the race. The goal of the race is fun and fellowship, so get your teams together and register by May 20. Mark your calendar, because the church is to be having its annual pork barbecue June 7. There is to be further information on the barbeque in next Wednesday's column. A two-week Future Quest Summer Youth Experience is to be held in Kingston, from Aug. 12 to 25. Furture Quest provides young people, aged 14 to 17, with a creative and challenging approach to spirituality and personal growth exploring community, theology and leadership. The cost for each participant is to be $750 each, including meals, accommodations and a 3- day eco-spiritual canoe trip. The Showers of Blessing evening was just that. Thanks to all who participated and to all who attended. Our slo-pitch baseball team stands at one-and-one. Their next game is this Wednesday at 8 p.m. Come out and cheer. Mark your calendars. Share Your Gift will be June 1 at 7:30 p.m. and is a fun, family-oriented evening for all who would like to take part. There will be an offering towards our mission projects. Everyone is invited to our Southern Hospitality barbecue Father's Day (June 17). This will also be a wrap up for the Sunday School; however, there will be childcare/nursery each Sunday during our worship services at 10:30 a.m. Our Bible Study Series on Luke's Gospel continues Sundays at 9:30 a.m. until May 27. Appreciation is extended to Rev. Barry Van Dusen of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Nobleton, and to all who assisted at the ecumenical funeral May 8. Nancy also created the Women of Originality Awards. Habitat for Humanity receives two dollars for every ticket sold. Get your tickets before they sell out!
