Two local players helping Aurora Tigers toward national honours

Paul Zanette and Andrew Favot.
The Aurora Tigers junior A hockey club players are a little busy these days in Prince George, British Columbia.

The top-ranked team is out to prove their status in the battle for the Royal Bank Cup national junior A championship, and two local 18-year-olds are helping to propel them to victory.

Nobleton resident Paul Zanette is currently playing right wing on the line centered by Andrew Favot of King City.

In 75 games, Favot has 43 goals and 55 assists, making him the secondleading scorer on the club. Zanette is not to far off that pace. He's only suited up for 64 matches, but he's posted 41 goals and 47 assists.

And things seem to be clicking for the club so far in B.C. they opened the tournament play Sunday against the Steelers from Selkirk, Manitoba, and prevailed 4-2. Favot bagged the opening goal.

Things didn't go quite as well for the local guys in Monday's match as they fell 5-3 to the Pembroke Lumber Kings.

Their third match was scheduled for yesterday (Tuesday) against the Prince George Spruce Kings, but the results weren't known at press time.
