The fourth annual Family Spaghetti Night is to be held by the St. Mary Catholic Women's League May 16 at Nobleton Community Hall on Old King Road, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 for families of four; $5 for children and $8 for adults. They are available after the 9:45 mass at the school gym.

St. Paul's 49th

Anniversary

This Friday (May 4) the Youth Group will be going bowling at Vaughan Mills. Any teens interested in joining are asked to meet in the church parking lot at 7 p.m. Parents will need to sign a waiver form for their children.

Join us this Sunday (May 6) at 9:45 a.m. for our 49th anniversary celebrations. Herbie Kuhn, the on-court announcer for the Toronto Raptors basketball team will be our guest speaker. Nursery care (for children up to five years of age) is provided during the service. A light luncheon will follow. Everyone is invited to come help us celebrate.

The Women's Missionary Society will meet this Tuesday (May 8) at 1 p.m.

For more information about any of our events, please contact the church office at (905) 859-0843.

Senior's Euchre

April 24 euchre winners were Doris Clarkson, Helen Fleury, Audrey MacDonald, Hazel Harris, Edgar Clarkson and Bob Fleury. Lucky draw winners were Vivian Hannah, Barb Salisbury and Helen Groombridge. The next euchre will be May 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Drop-in Centre. All are welcome.

Movies on the Lawn

With the summer season around the corner, many people are already starting to make their plans, so please include attending at Movies on the Lawn.

The movies will be on a 34-foot screen with professional projection and sound at the Nobleton Arena Sports Park. The gates will open at 8 p.m. with the movies to start at approximately 9.

The first event will be on June 13 and every other Wednesday after that. This is truly a community event.

Mark these dates in your calendar: June 13 and 27; July 11 and 25; Aug. 8 and 22; and Sept. 5 and 19 (two rain dates have been scheduled for Sept. 12 and 29).

You can read more about this event by going on the Web site at www.starlightmoves.ca to get the full impact of what is being planned. You can order your season or individual tickets via secure online credit card from the Web site.

Nobleton United Church

Everyone is welcome to join with us at Kleinburg United Church on Islington Avenue this Sunday (May 6) at 9:30 a.m. to celebrate Kleinburg's 151st anniversary. The guest speaker will be Steve Falk, from the York Region Committee in support of the Stephen Lewis foundation. Steve is a member of Aurora United Church. Our regular minister Tim Dayfoot will be away as he is the guest speaker at Cook's United Church, which is near London. The Dayfoot family will be attending and enjoying re-uniting with the members of Cook's as Tim was a minister there previously.

The Roast Beef Dinner fund-raiser was a great success. There were many happy diners who enjoyed the meal, the delicious homemade pies and the fellowship of many friends. The organizers Mary Anne Merritt and Nancy Hopkinson would like to thank all the helpers: servers, pie makers, meat carver, cooks, mashers, table setters, dishwashers, door prize suppliers, ticket sellers, drivers who supplied dinners to shut-ins. An evening like this is a fun community event.

The United Church Women's Annual Spring Luncheon is today (May 2) at 12:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be Nobleton's Bev Berger.

The last day for the Photodirectory is this Friday (May 6). If you have not already got an appointment or missed a previous one, please contact Nancy at (905) 859-0761. The photos for this session will be done in Kleinburg in the afternoon and early evening.

On Mother's Day (May 13), Nobleton United will return to its regular Sunday service at 11:15 a.m. There will be a special presentation by Jennifer Atkinson, who visited Belize during her studies at Guelph University. All are welcome.
