Community members pitch in to pick up litter
 | | Residents were out in various places around King Saturday in the annual effort to collect litter and garbage that others had dropped. One didn't have to look far for litter in Nobleton Saturday. Daniel Del Favero, 11, was flanked by Lucas and Steve Peressini, both 12, as they collected rubbish on lots on the north side of King Road. |
 | | Councillor Cleve Mortelliti watched as his sons Cole, 9, and Cody, 7, searched for garbage in one of the puddles along the side of Keele Street. |
 | | Laskay residents were out doing their bit for a cleaner environment too Saturday. Jodi Kandiotis was out with her daughters Sophia, 5, and Elizabeth, 2, along with Stefani Konidis along Weston Road. They were among many people who noted the large number of cigarette butts they had to pick up. |
 | | It's not uncommon to find money that's been tossed on the side of the road, along with coffee cups. This year's clean-up effort was maybe not quite as lucrative as others, but local resident Brad Abernethy found a 50- cent Canadian Tire coupon, along with what he thought was the skull of a gopher at the War Against Litter in King (WALK) event at the car park at Highways 9 and 400. |
 | | Taylor Cober, 4, received a bit of a promotion at the WALK clean-up. The daughter of Councillor Bill Cober was put in charge of filling her own bag, and she wasn't shy about showing off what a good job she did. |
