Plant some trees in park Saturday

Annual plant sale

Schomberg Horticultural Society is inviting everyone to get a jump start to their gardening season, or find a great hanging basket for Mother's Day.

The society will be holding its annual plant sale May 12, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Schomberg Community Hall.

There will be a variety of baskets, perennials, annuals, trees and shrubs.

Tree planting

The King Township Parks Advisory Board has ordered 100 small native white pine trees to be planted at the Nieuwland Park on Cooper Drive this Saturday (May 5).

The Schomberg Parks Committee needs volunteers to plant the trees, so if you are a student who still needs to compile some community service hours, or you would just like to help, please bring a shovel and meet at 9:30 a.m. at the park. The trees are one to two feet tall.
