Giant rummage sale at All Saints' Church will be held April 21
Submitted by Claire Alexander We look forward to a visit from Rev. Tim Elliott April 29. He will be preaching at the 10:30 a.m. service. He is the first of a number of former clergy and students who are coming back to celebrate with us during our 150th sesquicentennial year. Come and give him a warm welcome back. Mark May 10 on your calendars, for this year's Women's Dinner extravaganza. Remember the scrumptious dessert to follow. Get your tickets early and bring all your daughters, sisters and friends. Bring Mom to a beautiful Mother's Day choral evensong under Director of Music Michael Leach May 13 at 7:30 p.m. The next adult discussion series, led by Judith Bishop and Leah Springford, begins April 15 from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m., between services, beginning with the topic "Riches." Guests are warmly welcomed. All Saints' is a friendly church, located at 12935 Keele St. in King City, a few doors south of King Road. The Eucharist is celebrated at 8 and 10:30 a.m. Sundays. Nicola Skinner, at (905) 833-5432, or e-mail to allsaints@eol.ca All Saints' giant rummage sale The giant rummage sale is set for April 21, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at All Saints'. Additional parking is just east of Keele Street on Doctors Lane, and take the walkway to church. The sale will feature a huge selection of white elephant items, clothing, toys, books, linens and furniture. Admission is $2 for shoppers and children get in free. This is also an opportunity for students to earn their community service hours by helping with sale set-up, unpacking merchandise, hanging up clothing or sorting white elephant treasures. This activity will take place from April 17 to 20 from 9:30 a,m, until 4 p.m. and in the evenings from 7 to 9:30 p.m. There will also be a massive clean-up, starting 2 p.m., right after the sale. King Bible Church Overtimers Submitted by Lisa Lethangue We will be joining with the seniors at Victory Baptist Church in Newmarket May 11 for lunch and a special program. Please meet us there at noon. King City United Church Submitted by Shirley Burton King City United Church, a vibrant, caring Christian church, invites all to Sunday school and the Sunday morning worship service led by Rev. Bob Biggar at 10. a.m., followed with fellowship and refreshments. King City United Church is located one block south of King Road and one block east of Keele Street, 50 Elizabeth Grove. This Sunday (April 15), the reflection is to be "Jesus, Is This Really You?", based on John 20:19-29. All are invited to gather in the parlour after worship to discuss this further. A special thank you to all who contributed to our Easter flowers, including the memorial tributes. The monthly contemporary service is to be this Sunday at 10 a.m. When submitting talent 21 money to the church, please indicate if the amount includes a repayment of seed money. The yearly cost is $14, and payable by cheque to King City United Church, marked Observer. The church will be hosting a community family concert April 21. It will start at 7:30 p.m. and feature S p i r i t . C a l m (www.spirit.calm.com). Oldtime gospel and contemporary Christian songs will be performed, with guitar, bass, keyboard and percussion. There will be an inspirational performance and interactive music celebrating God's gifts. Special guests will include the KCUC Family and Sunday School Choirs and Gospel Praise Band. Tickets are $10 and $5 for students (children under 12 are free). Everyone is invited to enjoy this wonderful concert. The spring tea will take place at the church April 28 from 2 to 4 p.m. Tickets are $7, and are available from Shirley Scott or at the church. It is the time to get ready for the third annual King City amazing race. The race is to take place June 2. The times and details are to follow. At this time, we are in need of volunteer host homes so we can set out our route. We are also in need of prize donations. Let's experience Easter every day! Sunday morning worship service is held at 10:30 a.m. There is Sunday school and child care during the service. The senior Sunday school for kids in Grades 4 to 8 is scheduled this week. It takes place in the lounge during the morning service. Come and bring a friend. The Bible study group resumes April 22 in the lounge at 9:30 a.m. Come for coffee and great discussion as we continue to look at Luke's Gospel.
