Forget the Leafs: A season of good local hockey has come to an end
      As local hockey fans lament that the annual Stanley Cup playoffs are going to take place with the Toronto Maple Leafs conspicuously absent, there is some comfort in the fact that there's been plenty of good hockey played around here over the last couple of months.

Truckers will be asked to go easy on use of Jake brakes

      It's not clear how much good it will do, but King Township is going to try reduce the use of engine or Jake brakes on trucks in villages. King councillors recently went along with the motion from Councillor Jeff Laidlaw to pass a bylaw restricting their use.
