Lots of Easter eggs for all this Saturday There are going to be some 20,000 plastic Easter eggs strewn around Pottageville Park this Saturday, but they won't be there for long. The Lions Clubs of King City and Nobleton will be running the annual Easter Egg Hunt. King City Lion Greg Furtney, who is organizing the event, said it will start at the park at 10 a.m. sharp, and he does mean sharp! Although there will be 20,000 eggs, there will be a couple of hundred youngsters taking part in the hunt, and they will have every one of them picked up in minutes. Furtney suggested parents might want to aim at having their kids there between 9:30 and 9:45 to allow for time to find a parking spot. The Lions are also asking the kids to bring their own baskets or bags in which to put their eggs, since the organizers are unable to supply them. As in previous years, a special section of the park will be set aside for toddlers, so they don't have to compete with the bigger kids when collecting their egg. And they will be able to trade their plastic eggs for candy. There's a candy bag for every kid that comes," Furtney said. As well, there will be face-painting after the hunt. "It goes rain or shine," Furtney declared. Last year's hunt attracted about 360 young hunters. Furtney said that was down a bit from previous years, but still a good turnout." |
