CCKT names its new board There has been a change at the top of the board of Concerned Citizens of King Township (CCKT). Long-time board chair Brian Bornstein is moving out of King and has stepped down from the helm, although he will remain as past-chair. Debbie Schaefer was named new chair at last week's annual general meeting of CCKT, and vicechair is Ron Mitchell. The only new member of the board is going to be Nobleton area resident Ellis Greenstein, and Fiona Cowles is returning to the board. They are joining Margaret Coburn, Fred Jessop and Gill Watt. In one of her first acts as chair, Schaefer expressed thanks to Bornstein for his "very significant commitment of energy and time," announcing CCKT has made a tribute gift in his name of $100 to the Nature Conservancy of Canada. She said there were two factors about Bornstein's work that stood out; his "very strategic outward focus," as well as "your passion for nature." "We should all be very proud of CCKT," Bornstein said. "I'm still coming back to King as often as possible." |
