All Saints' Anglican

Church

This Sunday (March 25) All Saints' Anglican Church will welcome Trinity Unplugged from Aurora to lead the 10:30 a.m. worship, with their unique acoustic sounds and joyful songs of praise.

Come to hear Nancy Devine, as she brings the first sermon in a series from our new lay readers. The Youth Group will meet that evening from 6 until 8 p.m. for an Easter art extravaganza. Wear an old T-shirt.

If you like to sing, join the choir Thursday evenings at 7:30 p.m., under Director of Music Michael Leach (especially if you sing bass) as they prepare glorious Easter music.

Enjoy the warmth and fellowship of short Lenten candlelit evenings Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. in the choir loft, with soft Taizé songs and thoughts from Rev. Nicola Skinner.

The international Taizé weekend in Montreal for young adults (aged 17 to 35) takes place April 27 to 29, with the theme being Leaving Discouragement Behind - Finding New Hope, as part of the worldwide Pilgrimage of Trust on Earth. To register by March 31 visit www.taize.fr/en_article4542 .html and (4553).

On Sundays, worship in the chapel at 8 a.m., or celebrate the full Sunday Eucharist at 10:30 a.m., with children's chat, nursery care, and Sunday school, followed by refreshments.

From Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday, (April 1 until 8), participate in various services during Holy Week.

For those observing Holocaust Remembrance Day (April 15), prepare in advance with the inspiring DVD Paper Clips (King City Library) about a Grade 8 class in Tennessee. Good for junior high youth groups - challenging, and lifechanging.

A Heritage Day Service and Parish Picnic June 10 will display archival material and celebrate this 150th anniversary year of All Saints'.

Continue to gather your contributions for the wellorganized rummage sale, to be held April 21, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Drop off your items Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. and stay to help sort clothing, white elephant treasures and books.

All Saints' is at 12935 Keele St. in King City, a few doors south of King Road. If you hear of a special community need, call the church office, or Rev. Skinner, at (905) 833-5432, or e-mail to allsaints@eol.ca

King City United Church is a vibrant, caring community, which warmly invites one and all to our worship service led by Rev. Bob Biggar each Sunday at 10 a.m. and to our Sunday school, followed by fellowship and refreshments.

We are one block south of King Road and one block east of Keele Street at 50 Elizabeth Grove.

Rev. Biggar's sermon reflection for March 25 will be An Outpouring of Love and Gratitude, and is based on John 12:1-8. There will be an opportunity to gather in the parlour following the service to explore the morning's sermon in depth through dialogue with the minister and with each other.

This year's Lenten study is examining the last week of Jesus' ministry according to the Gospel of John, and is offered by the minister Tuesday afternoons from 1:30 to 3. All are most welcome.

Our Youth Groups are open to all youth in Grades 4 to 9, and provide a safe environment for the enjoyment of activities.

This Saturday (March 24) the Youth Groups will be hosting a Stained Glass activity from 7 to 9 p.m. For information on this and future activities, please call Serena or Kent at (905) 833- 2707.

This Sunday (March 25) the children of the church will participate in their annual games day after the Worship Service, with lunch being provided following the activities. If the experience of previous years is any indication, a lot of fun for all is guaranteed.

Monday (March 26) King City United Church will host a Red Cross Blood Donor Clinic from 4 to 8 p.m. in the auditorium. Your gift of life will be greatly appreciated.

While planning your calendar, keep April 21 in mind, as the church will be hosting a community concert presented by the Praise Band along with our family and Sunday school choirs. Also featured will be the Spirit.com Gospel Praise Band. More details will follow as the date approaches.

The King City United Church choir would still very much like to welcome additional members. We know you would enjoy both the music and the fellowship. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings for about an hour from 8 p.m. Please come and join us.

For further information regarding activities, please call the church at (905) 833- 5181 or, for a more detailed view of life at King City United Church, we encourage you to visit our regularly updated Web site at www.kcuc.ca

Our office is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
