Police will 'ticket' good behaviour by youth York Regional Police is supporting youth in the community by partnering with Mac's Convenience stores in Operation Freeze. Officers in No. 4 District Community Oriented Response Unit will reward young persons when they witness good behaviour by offering them a Froster coupon for a free drink at Mac's stores. Such behaviour could include picking up trash, observing crosswalk rules, participating in community activities, or helping another member of the community. More than 10,000 coupons will be distributed across Ontario during Operation Freeze which will run through the rest of the school year and the summer as well. "York Regional Police is proud to participate in a program that rewards youth for good behaviour," said No. 4 District COR Sergeant Vernon Ward. "Partnering with local business and engaging youth only makes our community stronger." "These coupons will be excellent tools for police officers who are patrolling our communities," said Sean Sportun, manager of loss prevention and security for Mac's Canada. "It's an icebreaker, a way to initiate communication in a non law-enforcement setting." Though the reason for being "ticketed" may vary, the end result is a free Froster beverage.
