Touring farms was a 'wonderful experience'

What a wonderful experience to take part in the third annual Farm Tour presentation of The Dairy Cow.

We visited each farm, and at each location we were welcomed warmly by members of the Schomberg Agricultural Society and the owners of the properties. There appeared to be a great turnout of residents from King Township and neighbouring communities who ranged in age from young children to seniors. We're not sure who had more fun.

It was such a pleasant and eye-opening venture, as we saw the dedication of our farm community providing a look inside at the process of milk production that all families rely on. This opportunity allowed us, with the organization of the Schomberg Agricultural Society members, to see the farm folk who were willing and eager to share their knowledge on a busy day, for their working days are a constant throughout the year.

We heartily thank the operators of the farms on the tour, the Sheardown family, the Phillips family, the O'Hara family and the Kolb family. We also would like to express our appreciation to the Schomberg Agricultural Society for their efforts and encouragement of this annual event.
