Fire still under investigation The investigation is continuing into a fire that destroyed a home on the 7th Concession, near the 16th Sideroad Monday morning. Fire Chief Bryan Burbidge reported crews from the stations in Schomberg and Nobleton were called out just before 10 a.m., and they were supported by firefighters from King City and Vaughan. Burbidge said one person in the house sustained minor hand and arm injuries. There was no word yet as to the cause, but he estimated damage at between $500,000 and $750,000. "It's totally destroyed," he said. The house was set back some distance from the road, and that created an obstacle to firefighters trying to get to the scene. Burbidge is urging rural residents to make sure their driveways are clear and accessible so emergency personnel can get to them quickly. |
