Change your clocks! Daylight time starts this weekend.

Anticipating March break, the young people will travel to St. Paul's, Midhurst, this Friday for a great Snow Valley Saturday.

After church this Sunday (March 11), you are invited to a Lenten potluck soup lunch at noon. We would be delighted to see new faces and chat over lunch.

March 16 and 17, the book club invites friends to share in their weekend retreat with the Sisters of St John the Divine for a time of inspiration. Choral Evensong takes place March 18 at 7:30 p.m., under Director of Music Michael Leach.

With the purple altar cloths once again reminding us of Lent, or the "lengthening" days as spring comes, Rev. Nicola Skinner has set a challenge with a new viewpoint about "giving up or taking on." Perhaps we'll count to five in traffic, and do without our road rage response, or our morning moaning, or our inability to say 'No,' or even our shopping.

When Jesus was tempted for 40 days, he left an example to leave our comfort zone, and trust God (Matthew 4). Maybe, we'll "take on" something for Lent, as in a rigorous activity, to test the mettle of character- or simply choosing to listen, or to forgive.

At the regular Lenten Wednesday evening gathering at 7:30 p.m. Skinner leads our thoughts of worship as the subdued light of the lingering sun touches the choir loft. Join us for a short time tonight (Wednesday) to share in quiet, campfire-like French Taizé chants, sung in Spanish, Latin or English, or muse on a prayer of St. Patrick, or the Lord's Prayer.

In March, we meet Sundays in the chapel at 8 a.m., or try us out at the full Sunday Eucharist at 10:30 a.m., with a children's chat, nursery care, and Sunday school, followed by refreshments.

March 25, we will welcome Trinity Unplugged from Aurora to lead our worship with their unique acoustic sounds and joyful songs of praise. Come and join us.

Now, what you've all been waiting for! Begin your spring cleaning this month, and set aside your treasures for the famous rummage sale, April 21, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Since All Saints' is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year, please help us contact old friends.

The church is located at 12935 Keele St. in King City, a few doors south of King Road. Call the church office at (905) 833-5432 to request prayer for a special need, or email allsaints@eol.ca

King City United Church is a vibrant, caring community, and warmly invites one and all each Sunday at 10 a.m. to our worship service led by the Pastor Bob Biggar, and to our Sunday school, followed by fellowship and refreshments.

We are located one block south of King Road and one block east of Keele Street at 50 Elizabeth Grove.

Pastor Biggar's sermon reflection for March 11 will be One More Chance?, and is based on Luke 13:1-9. There will be an opportunity to gather in the parlour following the service to explore the morning's sermon in depth through dialogue with the minister and with each other.

This year's Lenten study will examine the last week of Jesus' ministry according to the Gospel of John, and will be offered by Pastor Bob Tuesday afternoons from 1:30 to 3. All are most welcome.

Mark your calendar for March 16 when King City United will be hosting a St. Patrick's Day dinner, complete with Irish music and entertainment starting at 6:30 p.m. Either Adult ($10) or Family ($24 for two adults and children) tickets may be reserved by calling (905) 833-0473 or the church office at (905) 833- 5181.
