Board supports Yellow Brick House gala

In support of the Yellow Brick House, the York Regional Police Services Board recently approved a bronze sponsorship in the amount of $5,000 toward the organization's second annual Gala, planned for April 28 in Markham.

The local police and the Yellow Brick House enjoy a supportive community partnership as each responds to the tragedy of domestic violence. Members of the police are active on the agency's board.

Now in its 28th year of operation, Yellow Brick House is a non-profit, charitable organization that provides emergency shelter, supportive counselling and services to abused women and children. More than 3,400 clients received services in 2006.
