Meeting contestants in Schomberg idol competition Here are three more young people who are vying to be the first Schomberg Idol. The Schomberg Agricultural Society, in co-operation with Arcadia Academy of Music in Nobleton, is sponsoring the contest, which is aimed at promoting community pride and involvement, cultural environment, youth involvement and youth opportunity. The first event will be March 3 at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Schomberg, at which all 13 contestants will be appearing.
Meg Bennet Meg is an accomplished singer with several performances to her name. Her latest role is that of Sandy in the Marquee Production of Grease in Aurora.
James O'Connor James has performed in the Beauty and the Beast and Mary Poppins, as well as Dig It. He is in his second year of voice at the Modern Conservatory of Music.
Caroline Rucella Caroline sings in the school choir and she hopes to be attending St. Elizabeth Arts Program at YCDSB next year.
