Rea 'missed an important point' After reading your editorial of Feb. 7 which includes an essay on Psalm 1:1-2 we just want to point out that you have missed an important point in these verses. The Psalm writer speaks about the "law of God that he meditates on day and night". He does not speak about every man's own idea about what he thinks is right but what God, who made us, says in His Word to us. The Bible itself testifies that it is divinely inspired. II Timothy 3:16,17 says, "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." This includes the Ten Commandments and the summary which Jesus gives us in Matthew 22:37-38, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbour as yourself." If we look to God's revelation of Himself in the Bible, and believe His Word, we will learn how to live and how to find forgiveness when we fail (as we all do) to live up to His standards.
