It's time to register for baseball in King
By Lee-Ann Brinovec

Even though it seems that winter has just begun, it is only eight weeks until the first day of spring.

For those who are tired of throwing snowballs and can't wait to start throwing baseballs, this may come as welcome news.

To get the 2007 baseball season started, it is time once again to register your young players. With your convenience in mind, the King Township Baseball Association (KTBA) offers a variety of methods and dates to ensure that each player will find a home on a team this spring.

There will be three dates offered where you may come and register in person - King City Community Centre and Arena Feb. 7 from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m., Nobleton Senior Public School Feb. 9 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Schomberg Community and Agricultural Arena Feb. 10 from 10 a.m. until noon. There will be members of KTBA at each of these locations to answer any questions or offer any information you may require.

If you are a new player, please remember to bring a birth certificate and health card number. Another option is to visit the Web site at www.kingtownshipbaseball.ca and download an application. You may drop it off at one of the registration locations mentioned above, or mail it to KTBA, P.O. Box 1048, Nobleton Ontario, L0G 1N0.

Baseball is growing in King Township and even though every effort will be made to find each and every ballplayer a team. Team numbers are capped, so don't be disappointed. Register early.

If you require more information, please contact the Registrar Michelle Perone at (905) 939-7788.
