Council scheduled to meet 18 more times this year

King Township council is slated to meet 18 more times in 2007.

Council approved its schedule of regular meetings at the last session of 2006. That does not take into account special meetings to deal with specific issues (such as budgets) or matters that crop up during the year.

The meetings yet to come are set for Feb. 12 and 26, March 19, April 2 and 16, May 7 and 28, June 11 and 25, July 9, Aug. 27, Sept. 10 and 24, Oct. 15 and 29, Nov. 12 and 26 and Dec. 10.

All of these meetings are to be held Mondays, starting at 6 p.m.

The general aim is to hold two per month, but the staff report accompanying the schedule which council approved pointed to a couple of conflicts. There are no meetings scheduled for March break, so only one session is planned for that month. The meetings are usually scaled back in the summer.
