NO SHORTAGE OF TEDDY BEARS
A cuddly Teddy Bear can be very useful in calming a child down during a traumatic experience like a traffic accident, and King Fire and Emergency Services received a whole bunch of them Tuesday from Bruce Kerr, president of Slokker Canada. Kerr said the program was started about 25 years ago, adding he was supplying 60 bears. Mayor Margaret Black and Fire Chief Bryan Burbidge were on hand to accept the donation, along with Firefighter Braden Carberry, Captain Eric Hansel and Firefighter Renzo Cescolini. Burbidge said the bears will be distributed to the three fire halls in King so all the department's vehicles can be equipped.
