Plenty of great things on display at King City Secondary Open House

King City Secondary School is a pretty interesting place, and a lot of local Grade 8 students planning to attend in the fall and their parents found that out Thursday night. The school hosted its annual open house for the incoming class. There's some great exercise equipment available at the school. Remy Humphreys, a Grade 8 student at St. Patrick's Catholic School in Schomberg, and his mother Clare were trying some of it out.
The drama department is a busy place, and Thursday was no exception. Kayleen Evans and William Ogden were among the students putting on impromptu performances for those attending the open house.
Principal Teresa Micone extended welcome to the people attending the open house.
Some of the students were demonstrating how much fun it is to work on cars in the KCSS auto shop. Grade 10 students Lee Jolliffe, Andrew Geronimo and Jason Hinde are seen here hard at work.
Grade 12 student Arran Svadjian was demonstrating some of the communication technology equipment at the school.
You never know what you're going to find in a science room at KCSS. Grade 12 student Kaylah Lewis is seen here holding a sheep's brain.
The family studies section is always a popular place at the open house because there's food available. Tina Stepanis and her sister Marika were preparing spanokopita. The chocolate chip cookies couldn't be beat, including the ones prepared by Madie Vani and Olivia Cambridge.
There were a number of wood-working demonstrations. Tiffany Boening was busy working on a catapult.
Student Council Vice-President Taylor Jackson and President Arya Zandvakili had words of welcome for the students hoping to attend KCSS in the fall.
