Toronto man killed on Highway 9
      York Regional Police report the name of 64-yearold Toronto man who lost his life Thursday morning in a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 9 won't be released, at the request of the family. The police collision reconstruction unit is investigating the incident, which involved five vehicles between Dufferin and Keele Street in King.

Sorbara takes himself out of consideration for cabinet post
      Last week's surprise announcement that former local MPP Greg Sorbara would be leaving the provincial cabinet was greeted with supportive comments from area reps. Sorbara, the recently elected MPP for Vaughan, had been the provincial representative for much of King Township until riding redistribution took effect with this month's election.

Functional servicing study in King City is progressing
      King Township staffers recently receive the approval of council to carry on with the King City East Functional Servicing/Development Area Study. The study, which was provided for in the King City Community Plan, is looking into lands to the east of the existing community.

Arrest warrant issued in King homicide investigation
      Investigators from the York Regional Police Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau have been granted a warrant for the arrest of a 46-year-old man in connection with the discovery of three bodies in a burned-out van located in King Oct. 14.
