More volunteer recognition for Schomberg's Ken Murray
      Golf and volunteering may not naturally go together, but Schomberg resident Ken Murray has found a way over the years to make it happen. And he has received much recognition for his efforts, and it's still coming. The latest was a certificate of recognition from the Golf Association of Ontario (GAO) for 15 years of service.

      Members of the family of York Regional Police Detective Constable Robert Plunkett have expressed its appreciation for the support they have received since his death. Constable Plunkett, 43, died in the line of duty last Thursday.

Police were busy over holiday weekend
      York Regional Police were kept busy over last weekend's Simcoe Day holiday. Throughout the weekend, officers deployed Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) spot checks across the region. Nine drivers were arrested for drinking and driving offences and another seven received 12-hour licence suspensions.
