Kettleby students tear up the track at cross-country meet
Submitted by Susan Young

Taylor Calverley was congratulated by his coaches Kristine Cole and Lee Dawe for his first-place cross country performance. He is seen here with fellow competitors Chantal Montreuil and Sarah Ryan.
Many students from Kettleby Public School headed off to Fleury Park in Aurora to compete in the York Region District School Board (YRDSB) Cross Country Area meet in October.

Grade 8 student Taylor Calverley ran a very strong race, placing first in his heat. Sarah Ryan, also in Grade 8, and Chantal Montreuil, in Grade 5, also rose to the challenge placing in the top 10 for their age groups.

The Trio then travelled to Bruce’s Mill in Stouffville to compete in the York Region District School Board Regional meet Oct. 19. The girls placed well in their respective races competing against approximately 200 other runners.

Kettleby’s staff and students are proud to

announce that Taylor came in first in this Regional event.

To acknowledge his impressive achievement, Cross Country coaches Kristine Cole and Lee Dawe presented Taylor with a trophy at the last school assembly.

Congratulations go out to all of the Kettleby students who participated in the YRDSB cross country meets.
