Region seeks members for Accessibility Advisory Committee Are you a person with a disability? Or are you interested in disability issues? Are you interested in making a difference? The Region is looking for citizen volunteers who live in York to serve on the York Region Accessibility Advisory Committee. The committee will advise Regional council on further opportunities to provide better access to Regional programs and services for people with disabilities. The majority of the members will be people with disabilities. The committee will also advise council on how well it is planning and taking action to remove and prevent barriers for people with disabilities; and on how well it is complying with Ontario’s accessibility standards for transportation, customer service, employment, the built environment and information and communications. Applications are available from the main reception desks at York Region Administrative Centre, 17250 Yonge St. in Newmarket or York Region South Services Centre, 50 High Tech Rd. in Richmond Hill The deadline for applications is Jan. 8. |
