Winners announced in Lions' draw

Lions draw

The Schomberg Lions drew the final winners of their annual cash draw during Main Street Christmas Saturday.

The winners were Ken Armstrong ($5,000), Bob Angus ($1,000), Barb Courtney ($500), Alan McGuire ($500), David Lipsett ($500), Jeff Emo ($500), Mike Wilks ($250), Peter Wasikiw ($250), Yvette McHude ($250) and Dan Finch ($250).

In addition the Early bird winners of $500 were Paul Duggan and Grainne Malcolm.

The Lions thank all who participated for their support and look forward to seeing them again in 2007.

All profits from the cash draw is given to local community groups and projects, as well as Southlake Regional Health Centre. Happy Times Euchre Submitted by Shirley

The tops player among the ladies at the Nov. 8 Happy Times Euchre session was Colleen Coulter, followed by Mary Hammett, Dorothy Rodgers and Helen Groombridge. The lucky draw was won by Doreen Matson. Tops for the men was Bob Bishop, followed by Nick Witteman, John Banks and Jake Steenhoek, with Trevor Graham winning the lucky draw.

The 50-50 draw winners were Blanche Crane and Mary Hammett

In Nov. 22 play, the top lady was Marjorie Williamson, followed by

Greta Graham, Helen Groombridge and Shirley Stonehouse. The lucky draw was won by Irene Palmer. Leading the men was Jake Steenhoek, followed by Blake Coulter, Bernie Talwin and Albert Drury. Billy Longland won the draw.

50-50 draw winners this day were Mary Hammett and Walter Hill

For Nov. 29, leading things for the ladies was Elaine Ruddy, followed by Greta Graham, Colleen Coulter and Blanche Crane, with Mary Hammett taking the draw. At the men's tables, tops was Murray Edwards, followed by John Banks, Arnold Rodgers and Albert Drury. Andy Patterson was the lucky draw winner.

The 50-50 draws were won by Marjorie Williamson and Murray Kaake.
