Football done for another year at KCSS Both the senior and junior football teams at King City Secondary School put in gallant efforts two weeks ago, but both endured defeats in the semi-final matches, bringing their respective seasons to abrupt ends. The juniors hosted St. Joan of Arc Nov. 16, and came out on the wrong end of a 14-13 final. The following day, the seniors travelled to Newmarket to face their Huron Heights foes, and fell 30-1. It was tough going in the fog for the junior game. Pat Doyle was able to pick up a few yards on this play before the defenders brought him down.
Kyle Foley was not in particularly good company at this point, but he was able to pick up a first down against the St. Joan of Arc defence.
The cheerleaders braved the cold at the final game at Huron Heights to urge their senior heroes on.
Senior quarterback Mat Cart was looking for a receiver, but he finally elected to keep the ball on this play and get the first down on his own.
Marc Fortin was braced to knock down a long Huron Heights pass.
