All are invited to participate once again in the true meaning of Christmas by being part of the Christmas Angel initiative, which was created to sponsor families during the holiday season. Members of the congregation have been active in this program since 1998 and, thus far 170 families have benefited. When sponsoring a family people will receive a description of the family members, a wish list with possible ideas for needed gifts, as well as the name of the grocery store they shop at. All are invited and welcome. A contemporary worship service was initiated two years ago at KCUC, and due to the enthusiastic response by the congregation, the greater community and the musicians, the service has become a regular feature of worship every six weeks. "We are blessed to have a number of members in our congregation with the talent to make this type of service a reality," commented Gary Hubbard, music coordinator of the services. The five-piece band has both acoustic and electric instruments. Musicians, singers and the whole congregation are looking forward to the increased and balanced sound offered by the church's new sound system. The music includes modern arrangements of traditional and new music, and is an upbeat Christian celebration. For further information regarding King City United Church activities, call (905) 833-5181.
