Major peewee Knights defeat Bradford in last second of game

The NobleKing Knights major peewee A team, sponsored by Ottaway Motor Express, Saraben Investments and Perry Transport, continued with their busy regular season schedule with five games over the last couple of weeks, winning three of them.

The Knights squared off against Bradford at the Bob Fallis Sports Complex Nov. 2 and they took away a win. In the final second of the game the Knights scored after a scramble in front of

the Bradford goal and pulled ahead by a score of 3-2. The Knights' goals were scored by Marco Mussatto (assisted by Robbie Pizzicarola), Brendan Ottaway (Victor Mifsud) and Mifsud (unassisted). Amazing goaltending for the Knights was turned in by Ben Rossetto, who practically stood on his head to keep his teammates in the game.

The following night had the Knights against the Richmond Hill Stars in Nobleton, where the Knights were defeated 3-1. Austin Maggiacomo scored the only goal of the game for the Knights, assisted by Dennis Orr and Daniel Bilzer. Excellent goaltending by John Salome included some big saves to keep the match close.

Nov. 6 had the Knights facing Markham at the Milliken Mills Community Centre, and they pulled off another win with a score of 3-1. The Knights were up by two heading into the third period, with goals by Bilzer

(Robbie Pizzicarola) and Orr (Tyler Burtt). Markham got one back early in the third to put themselves within a goal, but Knights' forward Michael Noblegreen responds with their third goal late in the period to secure their win. Rossetto came up with some key saves throughout the game to keep the Knights out in front.

Last Friday night on their home ice in Nobleton, the Knights defeat Schomberg for the second time this season 3-0. The first two periods remained scoreless, but in the third the Schomberg skaters weren't able to fend off the Knights, who went on to score three times. Goals by Bennett Jull (Noblegreen and Mussatto), Austin

Maggiacomo (Mifsud) and Mussatto (Matt Baker) secure another win for the Knights. Rossetto was solid in goal and pulled off another shutout.

Last Saturday the Knights were defeated 5-2 at the hands of the Innisfil Winterhawks in Stroud.

The Knights started off the scoring in the first period when defenceman Pizzicarola put a textbook pass on the stick of fellow defenceman Christian Shortill who then blew one past the Innisfil goalie with an amazing slap shot from the point. In the second period, Steven Gianfrancesco passed to forward Mifsud on a heads-up play, and he went on to score on the resulting breakaway.
