Region accepting corrugated election signs for recycling

In efforts to increase the diversion of waste from garbage dumps, York Region 's recycling program will be accepting election signs at its Waste Management Centre this Saturday (Nov. 18).

Candidates and members of their campaign teams are welcome to drop-off corrugated plastic election signs (plastic signs that have similar appearance to corrugated cardboard) at the centre between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The centre is at 100 Garfield Wright Blvd. in East Gwillimbury.

All signs being delivered must have all fasteners, wood or metal stakes and wires removed prior to dropoff. If any piece of wood or metal remains attached to the signs, the delivery will not be accepted.

Note that plastic film election signs will not be accepted.
