Councillor 'did what he was elected to do,' reader says

Breck Carter should try drinking from the half full end of the glass! The tirade against Peter Grandilli in the Oct. 25 issue of the Sentinel is disgusting. Carter would have us believe that Grandilli has personal signing authority on the Township's bank account

and full control over Regional traffic and sewer issues.

Regarding the gazebo, the authority for this building came from King Township council. And, it is my understanding that the decision to construct the gazebo was unanimous!

Regarding the traffic signals at Wilsen Avenue, it was not Grandilli that installed the lights. King Township council passed a unanimous resolution and forwarded it to the Region where both staff and council approved the signals for their regional road. Carter

seems ignorant of the facts and process regarding both of these issues.

To think that Grandilli alone is the culprit for sewer installation is, again, ridiculous.

Grandilli recognized that Nobleton required some sprucing up from its lackluster appearance and he took action. He did what he was elected to do. His efforts should be applauded, not ridiculed.

Perhaps Carter can use these misdirected energies in more positive directions to ensure more use of the gazebo. How about having King City Secondary School perform some springtime

concerts? How about contacting all of the churches in the area and promote weddings? How about having Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny reside in the gazebo? How about . . .

Come on Carter. Get on it!
