Candidates chastised for electioneering

Regarding the Oct. 17 general meeting hosted by King City Preserve The Village:

I attended what was to be an information session referring to sewer connection costs, homeowners' obligations, as well as impacts to rural residents outside the village limits.

Questions to be asked by the attending audience were directed to Steve Pellegrini, Jane Underhill, and Cleve Mortelliti.

For the first half-hour or so, I could see that it was being conducted quite well, being both informative and well within the proper behavior of those involved.

However, this evolved into a campaign rally for two of the speakers, where questions were being answered with, "If I am elected . . ."

The only one who maintained protocol without going into an electoral pitch of any kind was Jane Underhill. She should be commended for sticking to the main reason for this meeting. Bravo Jane. As for the other two, shame on you for using this venue to solicit votes. Stephen Kornblum Council Candidate
