All Around Schomberg Schomberg Library The branch has resumed Sunday hours, from 1 to 4 p.m. Come out this saturday (Oct. 21) for Halloween crafts from 2 to 4 p.m. this program is for youngsters aged six to 13 (younger with caregiver). They will be making six "spooktacular" Halloween crafts and work on some frighteningly fun word games. The cost $8.50 per person. To avoid disappointment, pre-register for all programs, as spaces are limited. The Halloween costume party will be next Saturday (Oct. 28) from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. This program is for children aged five to 10 (younger with caregiver). Wear your Halloween costume and attend for some spooky fun. The cost is $3 per child. The Book Club meets the last Wednesday of the month at 10:30 a.m. The classic, Emma by Jane Austen will be discussed Oct. 25. Born to Read and Pre- School Story Hour take place Wednesday's at 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 pm respectively, and they still have openings. Contact the Library at (905) 939-2102 or drop in Wednesdays if you have a child interested in attending these fun programs. The week of Oct. 16 to 22 is Ontario Public Library Week. Visit the friendly staff at the library. They will be happy to serve your information needs. Also join us for refreshments all week. Happy Times Euchre Submitted by Shirley Stonehouse The winners among the ladies in the Oct. 4 euchre sessions was Helen Groombridge, followed by Mary Duggan, Blanche Crane and Irene Palmer. The lucky draw was won by Elaine Ruddy. Among the men, tops was John Banks, followed by Bob Bishop, Andy Patterson and Albert Drury. Bill Groombridge was the lucky draw winner. The 50-50 draw winners were Ken Hodgson and Walter Hill. In Oct. 11 play, tops among the ladies was Mary Duggan, followed by Helen Groombridge, Elaine Ruddy and Doreen Matson. Gloria Clarkson won the lucky draw. The winner at the men's tables was Walter Hill, followed by Bob Bishop, John Banks and Ken Hodgson. The lucky draw was won by Albert Drury. The 50-50 draw winners were Mary Duggan and Betty Ann Wilson. |
