Suspect sought in King fatal crash The York Regional Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is attempting to identify and apprehend the man who is now considered a suspect in a fatal motor vehicle collision last Wednesday in the northern portion of King. Investigators are seeking the driver of a late-model, grey or black small pick-up truck, possibly a Ford Ranger with an extended cab. The driver is described as male, white, 50 to 55 years of age. He had just purchased $50 worth of fuel from the Beaver gas station at 20080 Highway 11 in King. Witnesses indicated the pick-up driver rapidly accelerated as he made a left turn out of the south driveway of the gas station to go north on Highway 11. When he exited, at about 10:30 a.m., he apparently pulled into the path of a southbound Nissan Sentra, driven by by a 20-year-old Bradford woman. The driver of the Sentra took evasive action to avoid striking the pick-up truck but lost control and was struck by another truck travelling northbound. The pick-up truck was last seen travelling north on Highway 11 into Bradford. The driver of the Nissan Sentra was transported to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. She was been identified as Crystal Organ, 20, of Bradford. A two-year-old child, secured in a child safety seat in the rear of the Sentra, was transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the northbound truck was not injured. Investigators are also seeking additional witnesses to this collision. Anyone with information about the driver of the pick-up truck is asked to contact the Traffic Bureau at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7703, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or leave an anonymous tip online at www.1800222tips.com. |
