Mayor not responsible for actions of 'small group' We applaud the neighbour (letter on page 4 of the Oct. 11 edition of the Sentinel) who questioned why the blame is always geared to the mayor, and who encourages all residents to think about the council who is to represent them. Because of the lack of expertise and with their decided unrealistic mind-set, a small group has been allowed the freedom of tackling the judgment of experts in the courts, and it has cost this Township dearly. It has also caused the unfortunate distrust of our staff and that of the Region and our council members, who have been prudent enough to address many issues for the betterment of all. Because of the miscommunication to assert their focus, the lack of knowledge of these people has caused much stress and pain in our community. Why is it that they continue to try to mask the real issues with their so called concern for us? Because we live in a democratic society they will continue to destroy what could be a "beautiful Township in which to live." It is apparent that the mindset of their commitment and the ultimate legal and professional battle in the courts has been labeled the responsibility of our mayor. Not so. With integrity and sensitivity, she has shown herself as a competent and caring leader, and has gained the trust of many at all levels. Isn't that more beneficial for a community and its people to go forward into a future which can only mean to all of us a secure, safe and caring community in which to live? To quote our neighbour, "whatever you do, think about who will best represent you, who has been involved in the past, and who is just putting on a face for the election."
