Seniors will mark Halloween with a party and a pot-luck lunch

The King City Senior's Centre is planing a pot luck and Halloween party for this Friday (Oct. 20) starting at noon. The members are urged to dress up or come as you are. There will be Halloween games and a professional magician will

entertain with his tricks. All you need to do is come out, bring your favorite dish and prepare to have a fun afternoon with friends.

The members are also reminded that the deadline for sign-up for the York

Region 55 Plus Winter Games (Senior Games) is Nov. 1. There will be competition in cribbage, prediction skate, bid euchre, duplicate bridge, euchre, badminton, ice hockey, curling, 10-pin bowling,

alpine skiing, nordic skiing, table tennis and carpet bowling, all taking place throughout the region, starting Nov. 8.

All Saints Church

There will be a free concert at the church Oct. 29 at 3 p.m.

It will be an international concert featuring Songs for a Sunday Afternoon. The Babicine Family Trio will sing and render songs instrumentally from Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Italy, and the U.S.A. Come with your international friends.

Over the next three Sundays, Rev. Nicola Skinner and the congregation warmly invites all to share in special events.

This Sunday (Oct. 22) at 7:30 p.m., enjoy the peaceful music of a Choral Evensong, led by the Director of Music Michael Leach. Oct. 29, at 10:30 a.m., clap with a contemporary music service for all ages led by the Alexander family! Nov. 5 at 10:30 a.m., worship at All Saints' Patronal Festival, and join in on the pot-luck lunch to follow.

All Saints' is at 12935 Keele St., south of King Road. Sunday Eucharist at is at 8 and 10:30 a.m. The Doctor's Lane sidewalk to the east allows church access from parking near the Post Office and King City arena.

King City United

King City United Church, a vibrant, caring, Christian church, invites all, at 10. a.m., to the Sunday morning worship service, led by the Rev. Robert (Bob) Biggar, and Sunday school, followed with fellowship and coffee and refreshment.

King City United Church is located one block south of the King Road and one block east of Keele Street, 50 Elizabeth Grove.

This Sunday (Oct. 22) morning service is to be the monthly Contemporary Service, with the entire congregation joining in the worship of jubilant music, song and prayers to the praise of our God and our Lord Jesus. All are welcome to join in and come away with joy in your hearts and within your souls.

Join the re-design of the church committee for lunch this Friday at noon. Bring a sandwich. Tea and cookies are to be provided. All are welcome who are interested in the decorating of the church that is being planned.

Apple pies will be made at the church this Saturday (Oct. 21), from 9. a.m. to 1 p.m. It would be great to have help with peeling apples, mixing sugar and cinnamon, finishing and bagging pies. Catch up with friends, and hear what is going on at the church.

Tickets for this year's Men's Dinner are now available at a cost of $25. per person, from Alan Henderson at (905) 833- 5047, John Kell at (905) 833-5432, or any member of the chorus. The Dinner takes place Nov. 24 and 25. Purchase your tickets early, as they are to go on sale to the general public Oct. 25.

Seniors' euchre

The winners among the ladies in the Oct. 6 euchre session were Kaye Brooks (78 points), Dianne Wear and Diane Simmonds (77) and Mary O'Brien (45). Tops at the men's tables were Charlie Zammit and Dorothy Gillies (77), Cliff Kettlewell (76) and Joan Dowden (52).

The draw winners were Joan Dowden, Rena Gordon, Joyce Glass, and Cliff Kettlewell.

The next euchre session will be Oct. 20, starting at 7
