Mayor distributes proceeds of golf tournament

Mayor Margaret Black's annual Charity Golf Challenge in July raised a lot of money, and she spent the first couple of minutes of a recent council meeting distributing proceeds.

Cheques for $5,000 each went to four charities that were supported by the event; Brandan and Rosemary Cescolini, on behalf of Brandan's Eye Research Fund; The Iannello family, on behalf of the Shining Through Centre for Autism; Lory Patterson and James Binsfeld, on behalf of the Easter Seals Society; and Karen Richards, on behalf of the York Region Community Safety Village.
